The Dingle’s are set to be rocked by some devastating news in Emmerdale next week as it is finally time to say goodbye to the beloved Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell).
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is the first to hear the news, after wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) receives a phone call from Scotland.
As news spreads among the family, the Dingles close ranks and take comfort in being together, before the villagers gather to wave Cain and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) off as they embark on the journey to bring Zak home.
Elsewhere, Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) rocked by the sudden arrival of her mother’s ashes, and she makes an impulsive decision in how to deal with them.
However, when she later goes searching for answers, she gets more than she’s bargained for.

Cain is left reeling when he learns that dad Zak has sadly passed away.
As Moira explains that he had died an hour ago, Cain struggles to come to terms with it, asking lots of questions about his dad’s final moments.
Moira explains how he had said his morning with Cain had been the best ever, before dozing off in his chair with a big grin on his face.
When Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) attempted to wake him up, she couldn’t.

Later, Cain has the difficult task of breaking the news about Zak to Belle and Sam.
The pair are in high spirits as they return to Wishing Well, reminiscing about their fond memories with their dad.
However, the mood soon changes when they spot Cain, and it is clear there is something not right.

Ruby makes a horrifying discovery when she visits the hospital where her mum passed away.
On the ward, she gets chatting to one of the nurses who cared for her in her final days, and asks if she had mentioned her at all.
The nurse reveals that Ruby’s mum talked about her a lot, and had mentioned that Ruby had promised to visit.
As the nurse explained how Caleb had picked up a call from her and visited the next day, Ruby is gobsmacked.
The nurse suggests that he may be able to give her some answers – and Ruby will certainly want them.
