Explosive Comeback: EastEnders Legend Makes Shocking Return and Rekindles Romance with Former Flame!

There’s a romantic reunion for a favourite EastEnders couple next week, as Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) agrees to give Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) another chance.

The couple hit the rocks over the summer when Jean was upset to learn that Harvey had been hiding the fact he was giving money to Maya Houssain (Bharti Patel) as a way of trying to make up for his son Aaron Monroe (Charlie Wernham) beating up her husband in a racist attack in 2021.

She told Harvey she wasn’t sure if she could be with someone she doesn’t trust and bid her family a temporary goodbye as she left Walford to spend time with son Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky).

While Jean later made a brief return, she then left again to head to Greece with daughter Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), after Harvey gifted them a holiday he won in a radio competition.

Jean promised Harvey they would talk about their future together when she got back, and in scenes to air next week, she remains frosty with him.

Things between them thaw later in the week, however, amid Jean’s growing concerns for Kat Slater’s (Jessie Wallace) wellbeing.

As fans know, Kat is being abused by her son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall), but is keeping her ordeal a secret from her family.

Becoming increasingly suspicious about what is going on across the Square, Jean confides in Harvey about her concerns for Kat – but their conversation soon diverts to their relationship, and they agree to try again.

However, recent weeks have seen Harvey’s friendship with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) has grown stronger – so much so that locals have been remarking on their closeness.

There has also been speculation among fans that EastEnders bosses could be lining up a shock affair plot for the pair.

Will Harvey and Jean’s happiness be short lived?
