Emmerdale stars Amy Walsh and Roxy Shahidi have enjoyed a night out together ahead of Leyla Harding’s demise in the ITV soap.
Taking to Instagram, Tracy Shankley actress Amy shared a carousel of pictures of her and Roxy enjoying a meal together at Gino D’Acampo’s restaurant in Leeds.
‘What a gorgeous night with my beautiful friend Roxy,’ she wrote in the caption.
‘It’s not often we get together without children, work or something else to focus on but when we do it’s special!’
Their Emmerdale co-stars were quick to react to the post, with Matty Barton star Ash Palmisciano calling the pair ‘beauts’ in the comments.
Mandy Dingle actress Lisa Riley was a fan of their choice of restaurant, writing: ‘Must have missed you by a few hours – we were there just before.’
Fans also showered the stars with compliments, with one saying: ‘Great photo.’
‘So lovely to see both out together sounds like had good time both looking good,’ another said, before adding: ‘Going to miss Roxy if she leaves Emmerdale.’
It was recently announced that Roxy’s character Leyla is set to be killed off in a dramatic storyline that will leave fans shaken.
The news of Roxy’s departure comes after a stellar year in her career, which saw her take part in Dancing on Ice and ITV’s reality series Drama Queens.
A source close to the actress, 41, told The Sun of her excitement about this new chapter: ‘Roxy has adored her time on the soap and has made so many happy memories since first joining when she was just 17.
‘The cast have become like family to her, and she has grown so much as an actress. But now, she feels it’s the perfect time to spread her wings and try something new.’
While the details of Leyla Harding’s death are being kept under wraps, it’s clear that the storyline will be a major event in Emmerdale.
Roxy is thrilled to have such a powerful exit, with the source adding: ‘She’s really excited about her meaty exit storyline, which will see her character Leyla die on screen. She’d rather go out in a blaze of glory and be remembered.’
