Tom forced to cover his tracks in Emmerdale – as unexpected resident has the power to take him down

Tom King (James Chase) very quickly realised there was a problem with his cousin Carl (Charlie Munro Joyce) in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale.

Last Friday, Tom was on a mission to find his missing tablet before the police did. The device had proof he had been watching Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) via a hidden camera, and he knew he needed to remove the footage from the tablet to decrease the chance of him being charged with abusing and controlling his wife.

Suspicious of Carl, Tom manipulated the youngster into confessing that he’d given it to Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir) to play the game. He also threatened his cousin not to reveal he’d seen the tablet, saying he would end up in prison for stealing like his half-sister Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes).

As Tom later spotted Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Isaac in the village, he watched on from afar as he told Carl he would ‘deal with Isaac when he decides’.

Yesterday, Tom broke into Butlers and managed to secure the tablet. Outside the King household, he grabbed a rock and smashed the screen, but remained unaware Carl was watching from his bedroom.

In tonight’s episode, Carl had the day off school after claiming he was feeling poorly. When Tom popped in, he tried to speak to Carl, but realised he wasn’t in the mood for chatting.

Tom headed to the shops for Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and later returned with some food – and a gift for his cousin.

Tom knew that Carl wasn’t speaking to him after he snapped at him last week. To keep him quiet, Tom pulled out a new remote control car for the young lad and handed it over.

Of course, Carl was very interested in his gift and it left Tom with a smug smile.

This might be enough to keep him quiet about Tom shouting at him, but will this be enough for Carl to forget about seeing him smash the tablet?

Or will the boy tell someone?
