Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) makes another emotional appearance in EastEnders next week, as her husband Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) celebrates his 30th birthday.

The beloved character died in heartbreaking scenes last year, after she was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

However, the character has continued to make posthumous appearances on the BBC soap over the last 16 months, having recorded a series of video messages for her friends and family prior to her death.

To help mark various milestones she would not be there to celebrate, her daughter Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) got one on her first day of school, while her aunt Janet Mitchell (Grace) received one on her 18th birthday.

Next week, it is Jay’s turn as he celebrates the big three-oh with the Mitchell clan in The Vic – however, the touching moment is quickly ruined.

Jay is showing Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) the message when Kat’s troubled son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) ruins the mood.

The teenager, who is central to a new child-to-parent abuse plot with mum Kat, stuns former stepdad Phil when he is viciously rude to Kat when she asks him to keep the noise down.

But there are further dark scenes ahead for mum and son when she later confronts him after learning from Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that he has stolen from the café…

Since leaving EastEnders last year, actress Danielle Harold, who played Lola, has taken part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, where she finished in sixth place.

She has also competed on Celebrity Hunted and Celebrity MasterChef, as well as filming an appearance on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip with former EastEnders co-star Max Bowden, who played Ben Mitchell.

EastEnders airs these scenes on Wednesday 9 October at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
