EastEnders star confirms ‘endgame’ for major character as he ‘treasures every second’ before exit
EastEnders star Shiv Jalota has confirmed an ‘endgame’ for dying Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), as he ‘treasures every second’ of working with the iconic villain.
The Vinny Panesar actor stopped to chat with Metro at the Inside Soap Awards, alongside co-stars Aaliyah James and Sophie Khan Levy, all about the dramatic storyline that is currently playing out.
Earlier this year, Nish returned to Albert Square and announced that he was dying, and the family have been at odds ever since.
More recently, Nish turned on son Vinny after uncovering his and Suki Panesar’s (Balvinder Sopal) plan to get their hands on his inheritance, and very nearly ended up dead after suffering a medical emergency in front of his seething ex-wife.
After Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) walked in, Nish was rushed to hospital, and later announced that he was leaving everything to his grandchildren.
Speaking about the storyline and what is still to come, Shiv said: ‘I think it’s so beautiful, all of us have such a great off-screen relationship so everybody brings their own different energy and vibes for the different characters.
‘We know there’s an endgame for Nish and we’re working towards that so we’re treasuring every moment that we have. It’s a lot of fun and can be intense. Navin’s not like his character at all, he’s lovely. It’s such a beautiful dynamic I’d say.’
Sophie also teased Priya Nandra-Hart’s feelings towards Nish, revealing that it’s more complicated than viewers may think.
