After his abusive ways were exposed, Tom King (James Chase) has picked out two new targets in Emmerdale.

As we know, his wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) confirmed his true nature to Charity (Emma Atkins) after becoming concerned for village youngster Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), who was growing closer to her.

She was quite frankly terrified that she would suffer the same abuse, especially when Tom made it very clear that that he was using her and told Belle that they ‘belonged together’.

Word soon spread around the area about his vicious ways, with nobody more disgusted than his colleagues Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick).

There was also talk of what Belle’s brother Cain (Jeff Hordley) would do when he found out!

Tonight’s episode started with the two veterinarians chatting in the café about what they’d heard.

The pair reflected on the disastrous dinner party which showed what it was like for Belle and Tom behind closed doors.

Realising that they couldn’t work with him anymore, they made a plot to get some evidence on him so that they could oust him from the surgery. Vanessa grabbed her phone and contacted him, telling him that they needed to talk.

Later, they prepared themselves for a difficult conversation and spoke about how upset they were over Belle’s turmoil. Little did they know, he was stood in the reception and could hear every single word.

Tom walked in and played innocent, pretending that he hadn’t overheard. But Rhona and Vanessa realised his game instantly, and told him upfront that he didn’t have a job with them anymore.

Furious, he stormed out and said that he could sue them for unfair dismissal.

His oblivious uncle Jimmy (Nick Miles) then found him alone in the village, and Tom said that he wouldn’t let Belle destroy both his personal and professional life.

However, she remained troubled for Amelia’s future and had called into The Woolpack to speak with her. Amelia struggled to listen to her claims and ordered her out, but then admitted that he was abusive – and there was a sudden moment of clarity.

Can Amelia get out in time, and will Tom get his revenge on Rhona and Vanessa?
