What happened to Rose Jackson and has she left ITV Emmerdale?
Another mystery haunts the Dales as Emmerdale viewers unanimously wonder what really happened to Rose Jackson after her final confrontation with Kim Tate and Will Taylor.
Rose Jackson vanished from Emmerdale after being exposed by Kim Tate – but what really happened to her and is her exit permanent?
The ex-wife of Will Taylor and estranged mother of his daughter Dawn Fletcher, Rose (portrayed by Christine Tremarco) was first introduced in the ITV soap back in April, 2024.
Upon her arrival in the eponymous village, Rose acquired a taste for family life, having reconnected with Dawn and bonding with her grandchildren.
However, newcomers often keep a double life under wraps and Rose was no different as it was revealed she was in cahoots with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly), who’d enlisted her help to bring Kim Tate (and her marriage) down.
The Miligans have had a rocky past with the villainess due to Caleb’s attempt to steal the family fortune away as Frank Tate’s illegitimate son last year, which led him to push his son Nicky to seduce Gabby Thomas, unaware that he was gay.
Ruby and Rose’s plan was unfortunately rumbled last week, but not before Rose was able to bed Will behind Kim’s back. Adamant on revenge, Kim and Will decided to abandon her in a remote location, with a handful of cash to keep her going.
While the matter seemed closed, Rose was later approached by an unidentified driver but her fate following the meeting remains shrouded in secrecy but her handbag and possessions were seen scattered on the ground, making fans believe she could have met a sinister fate.
However, during Monday’s episode of the Yorkshire-based programme (August 5), while Dawn (played by Olivia Bromley) asked for answers around Rose’s sudden departure, viewers began to speculate that Rose may be gearing up for some retribution of her own.
“If there’s no body then Rose will be back for revenge”, one fan notably pointed out on X, otherwise known as Twitter. Another one had then ominously added: “Rose has only temporary left.”
In another theory, multiple viewers believed that the barmaid could make her return to the Dales just in time to expose unfaithful Will at Christmas, hinting at another explosive festive season. The theory read: “I bet she crawls out of the woodwork around Christmas, just in time to mess Christmas up for Kim.”
It comes amid fans speculating who might have harmed or taken Rose, with Will and Kim accusing each other. Viewers think Ruby could be to blame, and some fans wondered if the drug dealer Rose met with could be behind it all.
Meanwhile, no word on Christine Tremarco’s potential return to the Dales has been uttered, hinting that viewers may not have seen the last of her.
