Emmerdale reveals Samson Dingle’s exit storyline – and it’s bad news for Matty Barton
EMMERDALE has revealed Samson Dingle’s exit storyline – and it’s bad news for Matty Barton.
The troubled teenager – who is played by actor Sam Hall in the ITV soap – framed his cousin Matty for stabbing him when his friend Josh was really ultimately responsible.
But with Matty in prison and being terrorised for being trans, his family have become desperate to force Samson to tell the truth and free him.
Tonight, Moira broke down as she begged Lydia to help her convince Samson to tell the truth to save Matty’s life.
And she seemed to get through to her as when Lydia went home she demanded Samson sit down with her and Sam.
“I love you,” she said to Samson.
“I’ve fought your corner every step of the way. Supported you, so if there’s something you’re not telling us, you need to say it. Now.
“Matty didn’t just end up in hospital because of some random attack, he organised it himself because he’s scared and desperate.
“But he can’t stay in hospital forever. He’s going to have to go back to where other prisoners know he’s trans, and they will attack him for real.
“Samson, did you lie? Did it happen the way Matty said?”
Finally confessing the truth a tearful Samson said: “Yeah.”
Sam and Lydia looked devastated with Sam realising that he’d been well and truly played.
Samson told him: “Dad please, I was scared, I didn’t want to go to prison. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.”
But Lydia hit back: “You did. You’ve been lying to us and the police for weeks. Fix it. I’ve never been so disappointed in you, so ashamed.”
As Lydia left the cottage, Samson told his dad: “Josh will come after me, Cain will kill me. Dad what am I going to do?”
But Sam then made a shocking suggestion – telling his son: “Run. Get away from here. It’s the only way I can help you.”
