Charles Anderson makes horrifying discovery and confronts ‘Ethan’s killer’ in Emmerdale
Ethan died of a brain aneurysm just like his grandfather Victor but it doesn't stop his dad seeking answers from someone other than God
CHARLES Anderson makes a horrifying discovery and confronts ‘Ethan’s killer’ in upcoming Emmerdale scenes.
The vicar was left heartbroken last month when his son Ethan died suddenly, just days after being involved in a hit-and-run.
Ethan died knowing that Ruby Fox-Miligan had been the one behind the wheel, and was looking for revenge after his own actions had left her son Nicky in a coma.
However, it turned out Ethan hadn’t died of any injuries caused by Ruby’s car, but instead he had passed away from a brain aneurysm just like his grandfather Victor.
In upcoming scenes, Ruby’s husband Caleb overhears that Ethan’s hit and run case will be dropped.
The news prompts Manpreet to try to placate Charles, but later in the pub, Charity notes to Caleb that drunk Charles is probably reluctant to return to a house which reminds him of Ethan.
Instead, Charles accompanies Caleb back home, much to Ruby’s alarm.
The next morning, Charles thanks Caleb for his hospitality, but when the vicar accidentally spills coffee on the rug, he fetches a cloth and notices an intriguing invoice, which he decides to pocket.
Later that day, Charles insists on giving Caleb a lift into Hotten, which is uneasily accepted.
Caleb is puzzled when Charles wells up with emotion and gets out of the car in a lay-by.
Concerned, Caleb follows him and the pair start to walk through the woods, where Charles reminisces about Ethan and questions the hit and run case being dropped.
Doing his best to comfort him, Caleb is confused when Charles’ expression suddenly hardens, and he is caught in the vicar’s crosshairs over Ethan’s death.
He tries to return to the car, but is stopped by an increasingly angry Charles, who produces the invoice which suggests Caleb’s involvement in the hit and run.
Doing his best to placate the vicar’s rising anger and determination to get to the truth, what will Caleb say?
Actor Emile John – who played Ethan – shared a farewell message having exited the show.
“After three years, Ethan’s journey on Emmerdale has come to an end,” he wrote in an emotional Instagram post.
“I feel extremely privileged to have entered this industry working on such an Iconic show.
“I honestly had the time of my life! Sharing the space with such talented folk on and off screen for the last few years has been a huge honour and an experience that’ll stay with me always.
“Huge thank you to those of you who have been invested in any of my storylines throughout my time on the show, seeing your reactions and opening important conversations have made it all the more worth it!”
Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
