Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle supports Liam Cavanagh in Ella plot

Cain Dingle has shown support for Liam Cavanagh in Emmerdale.
The two clashed earlier this week over Cain’s decision to support Ella Forster, who has confessed that she killed her best friend in a jealous rage when she was a child.
Liam was furious when he heard Cain was sticking up for Ella, leading to a heated confrontation where he accused Cain of only getting involved to help “a pretty girl”.
In reality, Cain has identified with Ella because his young son Kyle previously shot and killed Al Chapman a few years ago.
In Tuesday’s (June 4) episode, Liam confided in Bear that he wasn’t sure he could trust anyone after discovering Ella’s lie.
“You can’t think like that,” Bear told him. “You’ll drive yourself crazy. Most folks are decent.”
Bear convinced Liam to go for a walk in the country to clear his head and lunch in the pub. Before long, Manpreet arrived to tell Liam he needed to get back to work at the surgery.
Liam remained in a surly mood, as he offended Tracy Robinson for questioning why he’d suddenly cancelled his medical appointments.
After the doctor stormed off in a huff, he crossed paths with Cain for a heart-to-heart discussion on the bridge where his daughter Leanna was killed.
The two shared a few beers, as Cain compared what Ella did as a child to his son Kyle’s role in killing Al Chapman.
“It’s you I’m more worried about,” Cain told his friend.
Cain suggested Ella left the village out of compassion, suggesting she didn’t want to bring Liam any more pain after what he went through with Leanna’s death.
Will Cain be able to talk sense to Liam?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
