Emmerdale spoilers: Rose makes a horrific mistake that could destroy daughter Dawn’s life
Now that we know Emmerdale’s Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) is a scam artist, we’re on tenterhooks as to find out exactly how the fragile Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) will learn the truth about her mum’s reappearance in her life.
Dawn is on the verge of crumbling into a thousand pieces over baby son Evan’s battle with leukaemia, having learned he’ll need chemo for the first few years of his life. She’s hanging on by a thread and the chasm between her and her main support, Billy (Jay Kontzle), is growing.
And while she fights to simply keep going each day, her mum is in the background, scheming and getting her feet under Kim’s (Claire King) table while she carries out Ruby’s (Beth Cordingly) heinous plan.
Dawn almost collapses as she learns Evan has a temperature following chemo. Petrified for her son’s survival, she grills Billy the second he arrives at the hospital as to whether the germs could have come from the kids.
This further drives a wedge between the couple, and later Billy breaks down on Will as he struggles to hold things together for the sake of Dawn.
The result of Evan’s fever is that Clemmie and Lucas can no longer go to school, which leaves Billy in a state over the weight of trying to keep Evan safe.
With the family in turmoil, Rose makes her move. She offers Dawn a supportive ear and a glass of brandy to take the edge off. It’s all in the name of embedding herself in the family for the next phase of her evil plot, but she hits a ginormous snag when she makes a big mistake.
Will flies into a rage when he discovers Rose handing Dawn – a recovering addict – heavy duty sleeping pills. But while he’s fuming, Dawn readily forgives her mum and Rose is smug once again that her plan is back on track.
But she’s forgotten about Kim, who gets wind of her actions and is quick to remind Rose that not only is she on thin ice, Kim has eyes on her like a guard dog ready to tear her from limb to limb.
Rose immediately reports back to Ruby that things have gone awry, but Ruby is not sympathetic.
Rose has a plan to carry out, and she has no choice but to do it. What lengths will she go to, to get the plan back on course?
