Emmerdale spoilers: Devastating outcome as Ethan is found dead following killer attack?
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Caleb Milligan (Will Ash), and Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) have been hellbent on retribution for Nicky’s (Lewis Cope) car accident which left him in a coma in Emmerdale, but even with hatred burning in Ruby’s heart, she didn’t truly mean for her wish that Ethan Anderson (Emile John) ‘rots in hell’ to come true.
It’s one thing wanting to teach Ethan a lesson, but killing him is a very different story. Now it looks like the end of the village’s favourite lawyer.
Ethan was released on bail having confessed to being behind the wheel of Nicky’s accident. Not long after, he was brutally mowed down himself and left for dead.
Somehow, he dragged himself up and limped back into town and seemingly recovered. But things are about to take a tragic turn ahead of his inevitable stint in prison.
Ethan’s days of freedom are numbered and he determines to make the most of his last few days.
He overhears a conversation between Ruby and Rose that leaves him shocked to the core, and he sees an opportunity to do some good.
He learns Rose’s true intentions for Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and resolves to use his final few hours not behind bars to pay off some of his Karmic debt. He tells Charles (Kevin Mathurin) what he heard and his fears for vulnerable Dawn – whose baby son is battling leukaemia.
Ever the purveyor of truth, Charles urges his son to do something, so Ethan calls Dawn. She doesn’t pick up, so he leaves her a voicemail of what he knows.
It prompts a conversation between father and son about what’s next for Ethan as they prepare him for court. It’s a tender moment they share as they discuss an uncertain future.
Charles pops to the kitchen but when he returns his world turns upside down – Ethan has collapsed.
Fears rise as Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) desperately tries to revive Ethan, but her resuscitation attempts seem to be in vain.
Charles can only watch as his only son’s life slips away right there on the carpet. Is it a delayed injury from the crash? Has Ethan been murdered?
