Emmerdale fans ‘figure out’ why Ella was sleeping in car as link to resident ‘sealed’
Emmerdale fans are convinced they have worked out the real reason Ella Forster is sleeping in her car after a new clue in Thursday night's (May 23) episode of the ITV soap
Emmerdale fans believe they’ve figured out why newcomer Ella Forster has been sleeping in her car.
Ella made a memorable entrance into the village earlier this year when she doused her boss Jules with a drink, quitting her job while defending Mandy Dingle at a vets social. Since then, Ella has secured a receptionist role at the surgery and kindled a romance with fellow employee Dr Liam Cavanagh.
However, it’s clear that Ella has a secret and her behaviour has left viewers suspicious. In recent episodes, she sparked concern when it was discovered that Ella had been sleeping in her car. After moving into Liam’s place when he found out, she snapped at close friend Mandy upon seeing her looking at an old photograph.
She also refused to be photographed at the village fete and abruptly left on Wednesday. On Thursday (May 23) more hints were dropped about Ella’s secret when she visited an elderly woman with dementia at a care home.
In a poignant scene, the elderly lady asked to look at a photo album again, to which Ella responded: “Who cares, it’s our thing, we love it! “. The lady then hinted at a secret when she asked Ella: “Were we once very sad about something?”
At that moment, Manpreet Sharma fortuitously appeared in the hallway, as she was visiting a resident suspected of having shingles. Ella accused Manpreet of spying on her in the hallway.
Bemused by this, Manpreet insisted that she was merely there for doctor’s duties and after an awkward car ride home in silence with Ella, she made Manpreet vow not to expose their encounter to anyone. Ella threatened to leave the village instantly if Manpreet spoke of their meeting or continued spying on her.
An emotional Ella said of the lady: “She is the most important thing, the most. Whatever time I’ve got left with her, it’s time I never thought I’d get. That I don’t deserve. I have to cherish each bit. It’s between me and her. It’s deep and it’s private. I’m all she’s got”, to which Manpreet gave her assurance to protect their secret.
Emmerdale viewers have taken to X to share their theories about why Ella is living out of her car. One fan speculated: “So Ella is paying for a care home that’s why she living in her car then #Emmerdale”, while another chimed in with: “Thought so, has a mom or relative in care home she is paying for #Emmerdale”.
