ITV Emmerdale villain Tom King’s crucial mistake ‘exposed’ as he frames Belle for abuse
Emmerdale's Tom King has been coercively controlling and physically abusing wife Belle Dingle, but in the latest episode of the ITV soap he made Dr Liam Cavanagh think he was the victim
Emmerdale’s Tom King may have made a crucial mistake, as he decided to set up his wife Belle Dingle on the ITV soap on Monday.
She urged him to seek help for his anger issues, following months of manipulation, mood swings and him coercively controlling her, not to mention him turning violent in recent weeks. But in a cruel twist, Tom used his wife’s history of mental health issues and her schizophrenia against her.
Not only that but he twisted the situation when speaking to Dr Liam Cavanagh, suggesting that Belle was being abusive or that it could at least become that way if things continued. Belle had kicked Tom out last week after he hit her, so he vowed to change and said he would get professional help.
So when that looked like it wasn’t happening on Monday, Belle pleaded again to which he agreed to see Liam. When he was in the appointment he talked of anger and mood swings coming out of nowhere.
He claimed he was at a loss of what to do and how to stop the sudden outbursts, but that he was really trying. He also talked of paranoia and other issues, but when Liam began to advise him Tom made a startling claim.
Tom claimed he wasn’t talking about himself but about Belle, and that it was her with the issues not him. He built up a story about Belle to Liam claiming she needed help and that he wanted a mental health team to speak with her, but that she was pushing him and any help away.

Liam seemed concerned given Belle’s mental health history, with Tom acting up and pretending he was at a loss over how to help his wife. After the appointment, Tom lied to Belle about what happened with Liam and made her think they were getting somewhere.
But perhaps Tom has made a big mistake in his plan to set up Belle, and cover up his abuse. Of course when Belle does find out the truth about what he’s said, might she end up confessing what she has been through over the past week weeks, exposing his abuse?
Then again perhaps it won’t come to this, and perhaps Tom has exposed Belle to the wrong person. Not only does Liam know Belle and might realise something is wrong and that Tom is twisting the truth, there’s also the fact he’s close friends with Belle’s brother Cain Dingle.
It’s obvious Cain is already unsure about Tom, with fans convinced he will expose him and take him down. But might Liam unintentionally give away Tom’s comments about Belle, leading to Cain figuring out what he’s up to?
