ITV Emmerdale’s Tom King covers up cruel lie to Belle Dingle after violent assault
Emmerdale's Tom King was seen manipulating wife Belle Dingle hours after violently assaulting her, before hiding evidence of another lie as he tried to get sympathy from her
Emmerdale’s Tom King manipulated Belle Dingle into forgiving him in the latest episode of the ITV soap, before hiding evidence that would expose a cruel lie.
The abuser focused on getting sympathy from his wife instead of apologising, after violently attacking her again this week. After months of coercively controlling her, Tom recently began physically abusing her too.
Belle had enough and kicked him out but still told no one what he had done, and on Friday fans watched as he begged for forgiveness. He then tried to make her feel bad claiming he was struggling and that he needed help, and that he would talk to someone professionally next week.
He claimed he would never hurt her, despite doing so, and that he didn’t mean to do it. He then lied about having not eaten all day and having to sleep in his car, causing him discomfort.
Eventually he wormed his way back in as she was confident he was sorry and would seek help. Viewers then saw him tearing up an invoice from a hotel that confirmed he’d spent the night at an expensive hotel and spa the night he was apparently sleeping in his vehicle.

Tom was shown smirking as he realised he’d won her over and was back in control. Things are only set to get worse though as he begins taunting her again next week, while also setting her up.
During his appointment with Dr Liam Cavanagh, Tom turns the tables on Belle and makes it seem as though she is struggling. Not only that but he drops hints that she might be controlling him, and that he’s the one who’s trapped.
It all reaches boiling point when Tom makes digs at Belle over her late mother and she snaps, leading to her shoving him to the ground. The moment is witnessed by others in the village though, so will Tom’s fake story be believed?
