Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale star Will Ash has revealed whether his character Caleb Miligan could try to kill Ethan Anderson.
The ITV soap is lining up a dramatic whodunnit next week as Ethan is injured in a deliberate hit and run, which comes after he was arrested for causing a separate car crash that left Nicky Miligan in a coma.
Suspicion over Ethan’s targeting will turn to Nicky’s parents, Caleb and Ruby, and Cain Dingle – Will explaining to Digital Spy and other press that “any of the three” could have a strong motive for taking action.

“Caleb is definitely less impulsive and he’s aware of how impulsive Ruby is,” he said. “I do have a lot of lines where I go, ‘Ruby, just calm down.’ There’s quite a lot of that.
“It could easily be Caleb or even Cain who runs over Ethan. They’ve got form for stuff like that where they look for some kind of retribution. I think in this instance, in terms of motivation for Caleb, it’s all there right in front of him, what has happened.
“There’s no grey areas at all with it, as Ethan is in the wrong. So I think either of us could have done it, or any of the three of us. It’s totally motivated.”
Comparing it to his last whodunnit, which saw Caleb pushed off a cliff by Nicky, Will noted: “There’s only three of us as suspects this time. It could have been anyone in the village last time. Let’s face it, when I first came in everyone wanted to push me off a cliff.”
He added of the current situation: “There could be some fallout for Nicky if he finds out that someone in the family has done this to Ethan. What’s he going to think of that?”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
