Emmerdale fans twig ‘sinister’ hospital twist after baby Evan’s tragic diagnosis

Emmerdale fans were left concerned during the latest episode of the popular ITV soap as they seem to think baby Evan could be in more trouble as a 'sinister' character appeared

Fans of Emmerdale have been left fearing that a “sinister” character could cause trouble.

On Friday night’s episode (May 3), Billy and Dawn’s painful ordeal with their baby Evan continued. Earlier in the week, the new parents were left devastated when they discovered Evan had fallen unwell but on Friday they were told by medics that Evan had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

Near the end of the programme, Billy and Dawn handed baby Evan over to a nurse for his first round of chemotherapy treatment. But some fans were quick to label the nurse as “creepy” and wondered if she might end up being “sinister”.

Heading over to X to suggest the nurse could cause trouble, one fan wrote: “That smiley nurse seems far too happy & gives off a weird creepy vibe.” Another said: “That nurse is giving me the heebee jeebees with her rictus grin.”

While another fan questioned: “Is that grinning lovely nurse going to turn out to be sinister? Would be something classy #Emmerdale would do.”

However, no other evidence suggests such a dark twist, and others simply shared heartbroken they were for Billy and Dawn. One viewer said: “Billy and Dawn are going through every parent’s worst nightmare. Thinking of anyone who has been through this/currently going through it or affected in any way.”

Another shared: “Must be absolutely awful this for Billy and Dawn. Leukaemia!”

Show producer Laura Shaw spoke to Digital Spy about Dawn, Billy and Evan’s battle, She said: “We’re going to see their world totally rocked when, almost out of nowhere, Evan is diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).

“ALL is one of the most common childhood leukaemias. I think there’s 650 children and young adults diagnosed with that every year in the UK. What we really wanted to show with this story is what a stress and strain a long-term illness like this can put on a family.”
