Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) was feeling insecure in Friday’s (April 26) episode of Emmerdale, but Tom King (James Chase) didn’t do a very good job at making her feel better.

Tom spent the afternoon in the pub yesterday with Vinny (Bradley Johnson) and Gabby (Rosie Bentham). When Belle arrived, she was uncomfortable when Tom started to compliment Gabby. He told her that she would find a happy relationship soon enough, because she’s an amazing woman who always looks like she’s ‘stepped out of a style magazine’.

In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Gabby entered the cafe and spotted Tom and Belle enjoying coffee.

When topic of conversation turned to what Tom got up to when he was younger, Belle started to feel isolated. Discussing the excitement of going to a fair, Gabby commented on how Belle’s childhood wasn’t the same as everyone else’s due to spending a large chunk of it in a secure children’s home.

Gabby felt bad, and then suggested Tom and Belle should make up for lost time today.

Back at home, after walking Piper the dog, Belle addressed her worries surrounding Gabby again. Tom said she didn’t need to worry and sent his wife upstairs to get ready to go out.

When Belle returned, she was hurt when Tom just said she looked ‘fine’ in her outfit.

The evil man then told Belle that comparing herself to Gabby wouldn’t achieve much, because Gabby is a ‘top businesswoman’ and therefore, will always dress better than her.

The harsh comments towards Belle and her dress sense ended when Tom stood up and said it was time to leave.

He ushered her out of the house, telling his partner they should head to the fair before she ‘finds something else to whinge about’.

Poor Belle.
