Zoe Henry made a shock admission about her Emmerdale co-star husband Jeff Hordley.

The actress – who plays Rhona Ghoskirk on the ITV soap – has been married to Jeff, better known to soap viewers as Cain Dingle, for years but the pair rarely work together as their characters are very different.

During Lorraine Kelly’s show this morning, Zoe opened up about working on the same set as Jeff, as she admitted: “In the nicest possible way, I think we both enjoy that part of it [not working together on set]. When our kids were young, it meant we could each be at home with the children in rotation, which was so important as the most important thing was our family and our kids.

“It’s quite nice. We’ve got the shared environment of working with people on set and the different teams, but we can come home and talk about it – we’ve not had the same day. I like it. I don’t think they’d be friends.”

The family will be getting a new dog this weekend after their pet passed away in February. Speaking about the new addition, she shared: “We lost our dear old doggy Rita back in February, which was truly awful. It feels not the right time but it’s never going to be the right time. So Geraldine is arriving in the house on Friday. Not sure what’s going to happen but it’s going to be fun.”

The pair have been open in the past about their characters not getting on. Speaking previously, she shared: “It’s important to have a laugh inbetween takes so upsetting stories don’t get you down too much. Working on the same show as Jeff, who plays Cain Dingle, also helps because if one of us is having a bad day then the other will completely understand,” whilst Jeff added, “I don’t think we’ll ever have a storyline together – Cain and Rhona are too different. Cain thinks Rhona’s a bit of a snobby cow. For me and Zoe, it works well.”

The pair got married in 2003, just two years after Zoe landed the role of Rhona. The pair actually first met at drama school back in 1994, rather than on the set of the ITV soap, which is where viewers know them best from.
