Newcomer Ella sets her sights on a man in the village after arriving in Emmerdale
Could there be another love triangle in the village?
ELLA Forster was given a position in the village GP surgery upon her arrival in the Dales.
Next week, the Emmerdale newcomer sets her sights on a single Dales man but there could be disappointment ahead.
Former Coronation Street star Paula Lane rocked up the eponymous ITV village earlier this year as she took on the role of newcomer Ella Forster.
The new character made quite the impression on viewers when she befriended Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) upon her first arrival.
After being fired from her previous job, Ella found a new way to make a living when Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) approached her with an offer.
She has since been part of the staff in the local GP surgery.
However, in scenes airing next week, Ella could be combining work with personal matters, much to Wendy Posner’s (Susan Cookson) astonishment.
Coming up, Ella settles into working at the surgery and she slowly finds her mark in the village.
But in a surprise twist, Wendy detects a spark between her and another villager – Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
Liam has been a free agent in recent months following the breakdown of his marriage with Leyla Harding.
When his passion for writing murder mysteries came to light, Liam bonded with nurse Wendy and the friendship evolved into a torrid affair.
Wendy’s partner Bob Hope eventually found out what they had been up to and the nurse put an end to the illicit romance.
Since then, Liam bedded Chas Dingle as they both realised they were looking for love in the eponymous Dales.
Yet the romance was cut short when Chas left the village following her devastating breast cancer diagnosis.
Could she return to Liam having moved on with Ella?
While this remains to be seen, Wendy could also be unhappy to see Liam forget about her and romantically bond with another woman right under her nose.
Although she remains committed to Bob, his mind is much more preoccupied by the tragic death of his son Heath on New Year’s Eve.
In more recent weeks, the B&B owner has been obsessed with the idea of making Angelica King pay for Heath’s death as it was revealed she was responsible for the teen’s demise.
Angelica was driving Wendy Posner’s car during a joyride with Heath and his sister Cathy.
The trio of teens crashed right outside Emmerdale and Heath succumbed to fatal injuries.
This has added strain to Bob and Wendy’s relationship.
Could she be tempted to seduce Liam again as a result?
Will Ella and Liam give romance a chance?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
