Mary Goskirk’s (Louise Jameson) whereabouts was the subject of much speculation in Emmerdale after daughter Rhona (Zoe Henry) failed to make contact with her.

Rhona, as viewers know, will appear in court later this week after she was charged with kidnapping biological daughter Ivy from ex Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna), who used her embryos without her knowledge or consent.

Fearing that she might be facing a jail sentence, the much-loved vet was keen to spend time with her loved ones on the day before the trial and therefore, while out on a walk with Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), she texted her mum.

‘My mum hasn’t replied to any of my messages!’, she exclaimed afterwards to Marlon, who assured her that Mary was simply out doing ‘normal things’.

Rhona, however, struggled to stop her mind from overthinking the situation, worried that she wouldn’t get an opportunity to spend time with Mary ahead of the court case.

Despite Marlon’s reassurances, Mary did not make an appearance during the offering of the ITV soap in question.

Is Marlon correct? is Mary just simply going about her business? Or is there actually reason to be concerned?

What’s more, will Rhona track her down before court? We’ll just have to wait and see if she shows up at the trial on Thursday (April 11)!

Mary wasn’t the only character whose absence was noticed, with Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor-Draper) beloved pet dog Piper having gone walkabouts.

The culprit responsible was none other than her abusive husband Tom King (James Chase), who kidnapped the dog and held her at the vets in a bid to drive a wedge between Belle and best friend Vinny (Bradley Johnson), who was looking after Piper at the time of her disappearance.

Tom played the hero as he returned Piper to a delighted Belle, lapping up the attention he received for ‘rescuing’ the dog.

Emmerdale continues Thursday April 11 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
