Emmerdale spoilers – Ella Forster hints at dark past – and we may need to be worried about Chas Dingle
Do Emmerdale fans need to be worried for Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter)’s safety?
Obviously the popular character is currently dealing with breast cancer so that is a very real concern. Chas recently had a double mastectomy after discovering a lump in one of her breasts and then finding that she has the BRCA2 gene that puts her at increased risk of breast cancer.
The person who first found the lump was GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) when he and Chas had a brief fling.
But as he became her confidante in the early days of her diagnosis and he’s continued to support her ever since, there’s clearly both a close friendship and an attraction between them.
Liam, however, has recently embarked on a relationship with new receptionist Ella Forster (Paula Lane). Hints of Ella’s mysterious past and signs that she’s jealous of Liam and Chas that became apparent in Tuesday (April 2)’s episode.
Ella was tending to Liam who had an injured face after being hit by Aaron (Danny Miller) in the previous episode, and he asked her if she’d ever considered nursing, because she was very caring.
Ella replied that she used to have a best friend called Caitlin who’d suggested the same thing.
Liam picked up on that phrase ‘used to,’ and Ella looked a bit cagey when she told him they’d lost touch.
This led Liam to asking about her family and friends and again Ella shut him down, saying there wasn’t much to say. She asked him who his best friend was.
‘Cain Dingle,’ he said, without hesitation.
Ella was not impressed. Not because of any qualities that Cain (Jeff Hordley) himself may or may not possess but because of his family ties.
‘Chas’s brother?’ she said, hands on hips, before moving the conversation on to how partners could be BFF’s too. The word ‘partners’ had Liam slightly concerned because, as he said, they’re still getting to know each other. Ella told him she wants more than a casual thing with him.
Later, Liam bumped into Chas in the Woolpack and she was furious to see that Aaron had hit him and charged off to confront her son.
Liam went after her and outside he calmed her down and persuaded her to take a more considered approach when she talked to Aaron.
‘Thank you for caring,’ she told him. He replied that he does care, ‘Maybe more than I should.’ They were holding hands and gazing at each other and it was a real Moment, rudely interrupted by Gail (Rachael Gill-Davis) coming out to tell Liam his quiche was nearly ready.
All of this was watched by Ella, who was obviously jealous. But because we don’t know all that much about her yet, we have no idea how she’ll react. Is she the sort to take drastic action to get the man she wants? Is that why she no longer sees former best friend Caitlin?
‘Ella does have a past that’s going to be revealed,’ Paula Lane told us.
‘When something/someone so important to her is put at risk she will fight so hard to protect that situation. This is a part of her we’ve yet to see and there is currently a lot at stake and a lot to fight for!’
Sounds like Chas might need to watch her back.
