The truth of a tragic death discovered in Emmerdale as Paddy faces the ultimate fight and Ruby confesses
Tensions are bubbling to the surface in Emmerdale next week as unresolved issues come to the fore – but one may have a happy ending, while the other risks a deadly one.
Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) is hot on the case of killer Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam), determined to find out what happened to his dead mate Rishi.
As he seeks answers, he happens upon a discovery – but Amit is closing in and there’s a real sense of danger.
Eric takes the plunge and exposes Jai’s (Chris Bisson) dad for what he is – but will his claims be believed?
Meanwhile, the relationship between Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) remains strained, and Paddy knows he has to grab the bull by the horns and make a grand gesture.
With wedding bells on his mind, will a proposal get the desired outcome?
Monday March 25
Liam tries to convince Paddy not to lose Mandy without a fight.
Pollard’s rattled after Amit coldly warns him to keep out of his affairs, but he’s determined to keep digging.
Tom has a tracking app on his phone that shows that he’s keeping Belle under constant surveillance.
Tuesday March 26
Unbeknownst to Amit, Vinny has swiped his keys to Holdgate and urges Eric to see what evidence can be found there.
As he furtively enters Holdgate, Pollard is chilled to walk past the spot where Rishi died.
Increasingly suspicious of Vinny’s repeated glances at the clock, not to mention the mysterious disappearance of his keys, Amit strides out of Hide, convinced he’s being played.
Vinny makes a panicked call to Pollard to warn him. However, obliviously rifling through Amit’s files in Holdgate for a killer clue, Pollard pays no heed to his phone ringing on silent until it’s too late.
Pollard lays his cards on the table and pleads with Jai to believe his suspicions about Amit. He’s left utterly defeated when pitying Jai dismisses him and Pollard and Vinny fear they’ve provoked a murderer.
Marlon persuades Paddy to lay it all on the line for Mandy.
Wednesday March 27
Paddy’s bolstered when Tom encourages him to sweep Mandy off her feet and inside the salon, Amelia takes it upon herself to be Mandy’s fairy godmother.
Paddy appears ready to fight for Mandy’s heart as he approaches the salon but he stalks off, unreadable.
In the salon, Mandy’s finally ready in her Cinderella outfit as Paddy makes his way down the street also dressed to the nines.
It looks like Paddy and Mandy might get their fairy tale ending when Paddy gets down on one knee…
Thursday March 28
Nicky’s astonished when a slanging match outside the shop with Nate leaves his mum totally unflustered.
Caleb’s full of foreboding to hear Ruby’s been alienating his family further; he heads off to find out what’s happened.
Unable to watch another row between his parents in Mill Cottage, Nicky’s quick to stick up for Ruby when Caleb demands to know what she said to upset Nate.
Later that night, Caleb can’t help feeling a pang of guilt as Ruby describes to Nicky what she gave up to build a life with his dad.
Matty and Amy have an awkward conversation with Claudette (Picture: ITV)
It’s clear Ruby views Caleb’s attempts to connect with the Dingles as an existential threat to their relationship.
Nicky convinces Ruby that an apology to Nate might be a good idea, especially if it helps to smooth things over between her and Caleb. Nate accepts Ruby’s apology and the pair start to tentatively bond over their shared hurt at Tracy and Caleb’s betrayals.
When Caleb marches in, he’s surprised to find Ruby and Nate peaceably conversing.
However Nate makes clear that Caleb himself is a long way from forgiveness.
Later, when a drunk and glum Tracy plants her lips on Nate, he quickly rejects her.
Amy and Matty’s excitement over selecting the village hall as their wedding venue is slightly undercut by Claudette’s strained reaction to the information that Matty is trans.
Soon, Claudette’s beliefs cause her to take a misguided stance forbidding Amy and Matty from marrying in the hall as it’s church property. Although Suzy is quick to propose finding a new venue, it’s clear Matty has been blindsided by Claudette’s prejudice.
Later on, in the Hide, Claudette’s hurtful stance pushes Matty to confess that he just wants to experience his wedding day as himself rather than as other peoples’ trans role model.
Amy processes Matty’s desire for a scaled-down wedding and tries to hide a flicker of disappointment.
Friday March 29
It’s tense between Liam and Aaron when Liam tries to confront Aaron over lying about the gene test results to Chas.
Amy and Matty are left with some decisions to make. Elsewhere, Ruby is forced to be reflective.
And tension continues to fester between Tracy and Nate.
