Emmerdale Kerry’s ‘sugar daddy’ exposed by fans – and it’s someone close to home

Emmerdale fans have watched as Kerry Wyatt returned flush after being fired from her cruise ship job for stealing – and she’s been flashing her cash around the ITV Dales

Emmerdale fans are sure they’ve finally worked out how Kerry Wyatt has returned from her cruise ship job with so much cash.

In recent episodes of the ITV soap, Kerry was driven back to the village by PC Swirling in a full Cher costume, and promised her daughter Amy she’d head to Hotten to get back the wages she was owed before being fired. When Kerry returned, she was ready to splash the cash on a new games console for Kyle, a designer handbag which she tried to pass off as a fake, and takeaway for the family.

Though she’s trying to keep Amy’s suspicions at bay by landing a job behind the bar at the Woolpack, it’s clear Kerry has got the money from somewhere, and some fans are sure all clues point to one source – a sugar daddy. And since she arrived with PC Mike Swirling, fans have begun to point the finger in his direction.

Turning to Reddit to air their theories, one fan wondered: “What are your thoughts on Kerry coming back? What does she add to the storyline?” as another immediately responded: “Interested if she’s got a sugar daddy and it’s the policeman haha.”

Over on X – formerly Twitter – one eager fan agreed: “We’re all in agreement Kerry has a sugar daddy in Emmerdale, right? I believe she was set up with the jewellery robbery and everyone will be in for a shock when she reveals how she really got all that cash. Her stalker? PC Swirling? DAN FROM PRISON?!”

Another suggested a different theory, however, adding: “What about the fact that she robbed cruise ship passengers of expensive jewellery and lied about it, pawned it, and tells her family all that money is ‘back wages’? Seriously?”

Fans have suggested PC Swirling could be funding Kerry’s spending

Kerry claimed she was set up by a jealous stalker on the ship, and Amy appears to believe her – meaning there are alternative ways she could have come by such a large chunk of cash.

To uncover more, Daily Star asked Google’s AI tool Gemini what could be in store for Kerry – and romance could be on the cards. The artificial intelligence predicted: “Given Kerry’s recent spending habits and lack of a stable income, financial difficulties could be a recurring theme.

“The show might explore new or rekindled romantic relationships for Kerry, potentially leading to interesting conflicts or humorous situations.”

It comes after Laura Norton, who plays Kerry, opened up about the devastating diagnosis her children received. The 40-year-old shares two kids with her ex-Emmerdale star partner Mark Jordon, who played Daz in the soap.

Now Laura has revealed both her son Jesse and daughter Ronnie have been diagnosed with Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disease which affects hearing and vision. It usually requires children to wear hearing aids for the rest of their lives and potentially causes sight loss in their teenage years. Laura and Mark are both carriers of the gene and unknowingly passed it on to their children.

She told Hello! magazine: “My intuition told me there was a serious problem and I was in tears at the thought of it. Knowing that we’d passed this on to our son was heartbreaking. To watch our little boy enjoy the world around him yet know so much will be taken from him, was painful.”
