Emmerdale spoilers: Paddy Kirk’s brutal honesty devastates Chas Dingle – but more trauma lies ahead
Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) were put in an awkward position in Wednesday’s (March 13) episode of Emmerdale as the former couple ended up sharing a kiss.
Following Chas’s breast cancer diagnosis, she recently made the decision to have a double mastectomy.
In tonight’s instalment, Chas was busy putting things into place ahead of her trip to hospital. She had sorted a rota out at the pub but when Aaron (Danny Miller) had a look, he was puzzled and wondered why Chas thought two weeks off would be enough time to recover.
Later, in the cafe, Chas sat down with Paddy and handed him a folder. She explained her fears surrounding the operation and the cancer, and how the folder included things she’d like Eve to have, as well as life insurance documents and even a funeral plan.
In the pub, Chas continued to feel anxious about the op and Paddy decided to comfort her. They ended up connecting emotionally and supporting each other but, caught up in the moment, they then kissed.
Immediately afterwards, Paddy acknowledged he had made a mistake. He told Chas that he loves her because she’s Grace and Eve’s mum but he also loves Mandy (Lisa Riley), and doesn’t want to throw that away.
Poor Chas was hurt by hapless Paddy’s comments. She tried to justify their actions by saying they were trying to find some normality in a horrible situation, but that wasn’t enough to put Paddy’s mind at ease.
That evening, he rushed off to the salon to find Mandy, who was looking after Eve.
Paddy wasted no time in telling Mandy that he kissed Chas, but he was left concerned when Mandy barely reacted. In fact, she went quiet and walked away.
Mandy will spend the next few days trying to process the kiss, but matters will be made worse when Marlon (Mark Charnock) lets slip that Chas broke off the kiss – not Paddy.
Can the couple get through this?
