EastEnders star Kellie Bright has revealed her joy at taking part in a new TV show, amid fears her character Linda Carter will die at Christmas.

It has been revealed the actress is one of four celebrities taking part in this year’s Great British Sewing Bee Christmas special.

Kellie – who regularly shares her love of crocheting with her Instagram followers – will join Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins, comedian Fatiha El Ghorri and former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby on the hit BBC show.

In a series of challenges, they will be putting their twist on a pattern for an advent calendar, turning onesies into children’s Christmas costumes for a child and create an outfit inspired by their favourite Christmas number one.

As ever, judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant will be on hand to assess their efforts, as former host Sara Pascoe returns to front the episode.

Kellie shared news of her participation on her Instagram Stories, saying of filming: ‘This was sooooooo joyful.’

It is also set to be a big Christmas for Kellie’s EastEnders character, as it has been speculated Walford landlady Linda Carter could die.

Linda’s on-screen family – including returning characters Nancy (Maddy Hill) and Lee (Danny Hatchard) – were pictured filming a funeral – while Kellie was nowhere to be seen…

Many fans also noticed that Nancy was wearing flamingo earrings in the pictures, pointing out the birds are one of Linda’s trademark decorative touches. Her mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) was also sporting pink nails in a potential nod to her on-screen daughter’s favourite colour.

Kellie also added to the speculation when she shared an image of a bowl she’d made at a pottery class that was adorned with the words ‘The End’.

However, there is also a theory Linda’s funeral will be part of a rumoured A Christmas Carol-inspired episode, as ghosts of festive past return to haunt the Square…
