Emmerdale spoilers: Vulnerable Rhona Goskirk is shattered by a fresh discovery about baby Ivy
Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) has been struggling to come to terms with the idea of life without baby Ivy in Emmerdale, and she is soon set to be hit by another discovery that leaves her shattered.
This all began when Rhona’s ex-husband Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna) came back into her life and asked if he and wife Lucy could use the embryos he and Rhona had frozen before splitting up.
Though Rhona said no, Gus stole her passport and used the embryos anyway, with Rhona completely unaware until Lucy was just weeks away from giving birth.
When Lucy finally went into labour with baby Ivy, she tragically died from complications, leaving Gus completely heartbroken.
With the new father in no fit state to look after a baby, Rhona took her in, given that Ivy was biologically hers.
However, Rhona had no legal claim over baby Ivy, which meant that, eventually, she would have to hand her back.
As Rhona grew more and more attached to her daughter, it became clear that she didn’t want to hand her over, and things took a dramatic turn when Rhona kidnapped her after learning that Gus planned on moving her to France.
Now that Ivy has been safely returned to Gus, Rhona has decided to apply for custody, though the kidnapping charge hanging over her has proved quite the obstacle.
Recent scenes have seen Gus agree to change his statement to work towards a not guilty verdict, though Rhona was later devastated to learn that he had been deceiving her.
In upcoming scenes, she is left further shattered when Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) finds pictures of Ivy on Gus’ social media.
As Rhona gazes at the photos, she grows tearful, desperate to be able to have access to her baby.
Despite her obvious distress, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) later steamrolls her into organising a Dingle birthday bash for Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) 50th.
Will this make or break Rhona?
