ITV Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ what happened to Ruby after devastating photo clue

Viewers tuning into Friday’s Emmerdale believe they have worked out what went on when Ruby Miligan was a teenager, as she sparked concern yet again.

Her daughter Steph Miligan was left comforting her, realising something was wrong as the pair looked through a memory box given to Ruby by her estranged father Anthony Fox. Anthony had debuted on the ITV soap on Tuesday, as Steph attempted to help him make amends with her mother Ruby.

But as the pair looked at an old photograph of Ruby from when she was a young teenager, it was clear something was wrong and she was hiding something. Staring at the photo she seemed panicked before bursting into tears, leading to Steph closing the box and putting it away.

Just days ago a similar moment happened when Ruby came face-to-face with her father after decades apart. She fled home in tears and ended up screaming at husband Caleb, clearly rattled by his arrival.

Moments earlier, as Anthony pleaded with his daughter to give him a chance, she told him: “They don’t see you but I do, I see you.” Anthony told her he “made mistakes” and was sorry for what happened, while almost blaming Helen for what went on.

Then later in the week, Ruby asked to speak with her father and she told him he needed to leave immediately. As he agreed to do so he claimed: “You win,” to which Ruby was struck with horror, telling her dad: “I win?” clearly not in agreement.

It’s clear there is something they both know that others don’t and that Ruby is hiding something. Not only that, but the latest scenes with her in turmoil over her past indicated something may have happened.

Now, viewers are convinced they know what went on and what is troubling the character. Viewers fear Ruby was abused by her own father, and that maybe he is Steph’s biological father.

One fan posted: “I think Steph is Ruby’s Dad’s daughter. I reckon he abused Ruby.” Another claimed: “Me too,” as a third added: “Exactly right.” A fourth said: “I think Ruby was abused by her dad and that’s why she had an estranged relationship with her mum because she didn’t believe her.”

It comes after Ruby’s fling with Caleb’s brother Cain Dingle, with fans thinking they know how it will be rumbled. Caleb was mortified when he uncovered a box of emergency contraception in the bin of his home. He avoided speaking to Ruby about it and instead spoke with Cain, leading to Cain thinking he knew the truth.

As Cain prepared to plead for forgiveness he was stunned, as Caleb’s reaction soon revealed he had no idea about him and Ruby’s betrayal. Instead, Caleb had somehow assumed the morning after pill belonged to his daughter Steph Miligan, amid her getting cosy with Ross Barton.

Caleb seemed keen to speak with Steph, and if he does he will soon find out that the pill isn’t hers. So will Caleb confront his daughter, and might she be forced to reveal she didn’t put it in the bin which would mean it would have to have been Ruby? Could Steph’s denial lead to her or Caleb uncovering Ruby has cheated, and might someone have seen her leaving the garage that day and put two and two together?
