Emmerdale spoilers: Tracy Metcalfe floored by Nate Robinson’s unexpected move after split
When Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) told husband Nate (Jurell Carter) that she wasn’t in love with him in Emmerdale, she might have been hoping that would be the hardest part over. But it turns out that this may not be the case as Nate struggles to come to terms with the split.
Although Tracy and Nate only got married last summer, it was only a matter of months before she was sneaking off to have extra-marital fun with Caleb Milligan (William Ash). It even got to the point where she was telling Caleb she loved him.
That relationship is apparently over since Caleb’s ex-wife, Ruby (Beth Cordingly), turned out to be less ex than previously thought, but it made Tracy realise that she had never been in love with Nate. Not even at the time of their wedding, she told him.
Tuesday (February 6)’s episode saw an awkward situation at Mill Cottage as Nate has gone to stay with his uncle Caleb while he processes his heartbreak. Obviously this isn’t ideal for Caleb, who fears the truth about him and Tracy coming out.
This is a particular worry given that Ruby is extremely interested in what might have caused Tracy to dump Nate. Caleb reckons she’s ‘an orange jumpsuit away from going full Guantanamo and waterboarding the truth out of him.’
Nicky (Lewis Cope) knows about Caleb and Tracy, and Ruby has noticed that there’s a tense atmosphere between her son and her kind-of-ex-husband. It seems that Ruby is a woman on a mission to find out what’s going on and things could get very messy indeed.
Meanwhile Nate popped over to his former family home to read his daughter, Frankie, a bedtime story. He told Tracy that he doesn’t want things to change for Frankie any more than they have to, a sentiment Tracy agreed with.
‘No one’s trying to write you out of her life,’ she told him.
‘You’ve done it before,’ he replied. ‘But try it again and see what happens.’ This warning left Tracy a bit shaken and tearful.
Previously she and Nate had split up after he was unfaithful. Tracy took Frankie and went to start a new life in Nottingham.
When she briefly returned to the village in 2022 she and Nate reconnected and it turned out that they’d been secretly seeing each other prior to their wedding the following year.
Although they seemed blissfully happy when they got married, Tracy revealed in Monday (February 5)’s episode that it was the idea of marriage and a happy family that she’d been in love with – not Nate himself.
