ITV Emmerdale double return ‘sealed’ as fans ‘work out’ who Will was on phone to
Emmerdale fans are convinced they know who Will Taylor's mystery caller was - and it could mean a huge return to the Dales is on the cards.
Will, played by Dean Andrews, has faced tempestuous times recently, with his marriage to Kim Tate (Claire King) unravelling spectacularly. Audiences will remember earlier in the year when Will betrayed Kim by reigniting a flame with his former lover Rose (Christine Tremarco).
Subsequently ensnared by an anonymous blackmailer, it was shockingly disclosed to be Kim, who was clued up on every dirty secret. A vicious tug of war ensued between them as each vied for supremacy.
Kim remained resolute in shielding her wealth and estate from Will’s reach. Yet, recent episodes suggest a spark could yet reignite between them, particularly following the death of Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell).
Confiding in her friend Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick), Kim revealed her internal strife, confessing that her pursuit of vengeance didn’t bring the satisfaction she yearned for. Nonetheless, it appears that the tangle of soap opera drama for Kim and Will isn’t drawing to a close any time soon, reports Leeds Live.
Will made a mysterious phone call
Alongside snaps of Emmerdale’s characters, a fan speculated: “Oooh who is Will talking to? #Emmerdale promised a return, could it be? #TheTates They both have a bone to pick with Kim! ” Another viewer posted: “Either of them would be MASSIVE! “.
In Monday’s episode (November 20), viewers saw Will, after visiting his daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and discussing her situation with Billy (Jay Kontzle), engaging in an elusive phone conversation, declaring: “You were supposed to call me, to let me know I got everything I needed.”
The audience is now convinced they’ve decoded the identity of Will’s correspondentand it points to a startling figure from the past. On digital chatter hubs, theres speculation swirling: Could it be Joe (Ned Porteous) or Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) Tate making a dramatic reappearance?
Fans reckon he was on the phone to Jamie
Joining the discussion, someone suggested: “Definitely need a Joe return. The storylines with him and Kim would be brilliant.” Resonating with this viewpoint, another follower commented: “Would love to see that! They bring an interesting dynamic.”
Joe Tate took centre stage on Emmerdale from 2017 to 2018. After being presumed dead in 2018, it was eventually disclosed that he was actually living overseas, post a thwarted vendetta against Charity Dingle.
In the meantime, Kim’s offspring Jamie was last discovered on screen in 2021, having plotted his own demise in a car accident. With his mother Kim duped into believing he had died, Jamie clandestinely retreated to reside with his daughter Millie and her grandmother.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
