Creepy EastEnders market boss Mr Lister has his eyes on Honey again
Bridge Street Market manager Mr Lister (Nick Wilton) sets his sights on Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) in EastEnders next week.
The infamous recurring character (first name Bob, fact fans) has been a recurring character in the BBC soap for the last sixteen years.
Walford busybody Lister is often seen ensuring the locals have a market license, disciplining the traders and being a general nuisance.
His return to the drama of course coincides with the sad news that the market, along with the Square gardens, could soon be redeveloped by Junior Knight (Micah Balfour).
Martin Fowler (James Bye) was shocked to see Honey, her fiancé Billy (Perry Fenwick), Winston (Ulric Browne) and Shrimpy (Ben Champniss) discussing rumours that their livelihood was at risk.
The residents gathered at The Queen Vic to hear more about the plans, and ex-councillor Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) confirmed that it was indeed true.
Later, Ian and Martin consulted a solicitor to see if there was anything he could do, and he suggested a petition. Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) headed out to collect signatures, but she dropped the document in a puddle.
In upcoming scenes, Martin is focussed on quizzing Mr Lister on the closure, unaware that Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is about to drop a huge bombshell – Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) has given birth to his son.
She’s certainly took her time, given Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) told her when they were locked up together at the beginning of September!
Later in the week, Lister announces to the traders that he’ll stay on to fight alongside them – after all he’d be out of a job too.
Honey is thrilled to have his support, and wraps her arms around him. Mr Lister is delighted to get a hug from her.
Viewers will remember that the last time we saw him, he developed somewhat of an inappropriate affection for Honey.
After asking her if she was single, he commented that the lot of her life could be closer than she thought. The two then had lunch together, with Lister flooding her with compliments.
He even said she could drop the formalities and start calling him Bob!
At the time, she’d just split up from Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick), and he tried to suggest that she’d be better off with an older man. Luckily, Finlay Baker (Ashley Byam) saved the day, stepping in to announce that they were a couple.
Are Lister’s old feelings about to reignite?
