Former EastEnders star Danielle Harold has confirmed her relationship status – one year on from discussing her dating struggles on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

The actress, 32, played Lola Pearce on the BBC soap across two stints between 2011 and 2023, but has continued to make video appearances since.

In heartbreaking scenes, Lola passed away from glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain tumour, with her husband Jay (Jamie Borthwick) and daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) by her side.

During an episode of ITV lunchtime panel show Loose Women last year, Danielle shut down rumours that she was dating The Only Way is Essex star Pete Wicks.

‘No, we’ve been laughing so much. Bless him’ she said.

‘We come out and you go out with all the friends and family, but me and Pete are just good friends. Have been for years, but we’ve been having a good giggle about it.’

Whilst in the famous Australian camp, she’d admitted that she’d had a ‘hard time’ to get ‘a guy to buy [her] a cuppa.’

Now, in a new interview, she has opened up about her romantic life one year on.

‘I’m still single. I’m a bit of a home bird so don’t go out that much’ she admitted.

‘But, when I do, I never get chatted up.’

Continuing to The Sun, Danielle added that her line about being unable to get someone to buy her a brew led to a number of fellas flooding into her Instagram direct messages.

‘I had a lot of DMs when I came out of the jungle from guys asking me if I wanted a cup of tea’ she said.

‘At first I thought, “What?” Then I realised it was because of what I’d said and it had become this huge thing. It even became a meme.’

She added: ‘I was telling one of my best friends the other day, “Well, you’ll never guess who slipped into my DMs?”‘

‘She got all excited, but no, it was McVitie’s chocolate biscuits. She was absolutely cracking up. We both were. I’m not even joking.

‘I’ve had Oreos get in touch with me, too. That’s who I’m chatting to in my DMs.’
