Dozy EastEnders star leaves top secret script on train – containing bombshell Xmas plot in which key character is killed

Some of the scripted scenes will be aired over Christmas

A BLUNDERING EastEnders star left top-secret scripts on a train — containing bombshell Christmas plot spoilers.

The documents, revealing a key character will be killed off, were found by a passenger.

The Sun this week visited Albert Square to hand them back to actor Colin Salmon — not the star who lost them.

A soap spokeswoman said: “A big thank you to The Sun.”

The documents, marked as classified, were mislaid by an EastEnders actress as she got off a train near the BBC studios.

A passenger on his way to work then found them.

His wife said: “He’s not much of a soap fan but he knows I love them, so told me straight away.

“I was very excited — I love EastEnders.

“I couldn’t wait to read the script and wasn’t disappointed.

“There’s a real twist that will shock everyone and a main character is killed off.

“It’s an incredible storyline.”

Labelled “rehearsal scripts”, they were abandoned on the Thameslink train at Elstree & Borehamwood station in Hertfordshire in the early morning of October 31.

Its finders tried to return them to the star within the hour.

The passenger’s wife, a 30-year-old primary school tutor who has asked not to be named, said: “The script was clearly owned by an actress in EastEnders because her lines were highlighted and there were Post-it notes with scribbled writing stuck to the pages.

“There was also a page with the actress’s filming schedule written in pencil.

“We desperately wanted to get the script back to her.”

She messaged the actress — who we are also choosing not to name — on Instagram.

But, despite thinking “she might be in a panic over losing it”, she got no response.

After four days, she asked The Sun for help, and we were happy to prevent a massive Christmas spoiler by returning them — to the relief of soap bosses.

Our reporter travelled to Albert Square, where he handed the scripts to Colin Salmon, who plays Queen Vic barman George Knight.

On the front cover of each, the entire production team is named along with production dates.

The filming for two episodes ran from October 14 to November 1, while the third ran from November 4 to 15.

Production runs around six to eight weeks ahead of transmission, so some of the scripted scenes will be aired over Christmas.

An EastEnders spokeswoman yesterday said: “A big thank you to The Sun for the safe return of our festive scripts.

“We know just how much the audience loves watching the drama unfold for themselves, rather than having it spoilt — so our surprises will remain a treat this Christmas and beyond.”

Last week, we revealed how former show star Cheryl Fergison — who played hapless Heather Trott — is selling her old scripts for £50.

The actress was axed in 2012 after five years, when Heather was murdered by Ben Mitchell.

  • EastEnders can be seen from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and is also available on BBC iPlayer.
