Emmerdale Rebecca White’s real fate ‘revealed’ – and she’s not dead
Ross Barton dropped a bombshell on Charity Dingle during this Wednesday's trip to the Dales as he revealed his ex-girlfriend Rebecca White had died. But viewers are not convinced.
Rebecca White is the latest character to be killed off off-screen on Emmerdale but some soap fans are convinced that she could still be alive.
News of Rebecca’s passing – who hadn’t been seen on the ITV soap since her exit in 2018 – hit the eponymous village this Wednesday (October 30), in the wake of Ross Barton aka Mike Parr’s return to the Dales earlier on in the week.
Amid his ongoing argument with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), the mother of his child Moses, Ross told the owner of the Woolpack that his ex-girlfriend Rebecca White, whom he had left Emmerdale with six years ago, had passed away.

In scenes aired this Wednesday evening, Ross and Charity spoke about their parental responsibilities while the former also teased her over her marriage with Mackenzie. Charity responded by seeking an explanation from Rebecca but when the latter’s phone rang without any response, Ross was forced to tell her she had died.
Ross notably explained that Rebecca’s death had been caused by heart issues, before Charity asked about her son Seb. This led him to add that Seb had been taken away from him as, at the time of her death, caused by heart issues, Ross and Rebecca were separated though he remained a present figure in the young boy’s life. But overall, Seb remains safe.
While the news left Charity shocked, numerous viewers of the Yorkshire-based programme took to Twitter, now X, to call out Ross on his lie. This prompted one of them to suggest that Rebecca was still alive and with Emily Head supposedly being replaced by Twinnie-Lee Moore, otherwise known as Jade on the show.
“Time for another one of my wild theories… no way Rebecca is dead in #Emmerdale. Ross is lying and I think that fight woman could be Rebecca (recast) and in disguise…”, they wrote.
A second soap fan chimed in: “So wait, they killed off Rebecca yet Victoria has no idea and she’s Seb’s auntie, yet Seb lives with an auntie we have never heard of?”, and a third added: “Something about Ross’s story doesn’t add up, a routine op kills her when she had a TBI to contend with? Why wouldn’t the writers use that if she was really dead… he lyingggg.”
Billy Fletcher’s mysterious boxing promoter was most recently believed to be Stephanie Miligan, Caleb and Ruby’s daughter. However, several other theories have been suggested since as the new character has also been linked to the King family. Could she be the secret daughter of former resident and Jimmy King’s ex Sadie, played by Patsy Kensit?
In recent scenes, Jade has been causing trouble for Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) by forcing him to take part in an underground boxing match, which led up to Ross Barton’s return to Emmerdale. Could Jade be someone from Billy’s shady past?
