Lauren Branning (played by Jacqueline Jossa) is reeling from pain after the chaos at Peggy’s, and fans are on edge, fearing she might be on her last legs.

This action-packed week on the Square saw Peter Beale (played by Thomas Law) deeply worried as his other half, Lauren, couldn’t hide her torment from injuries she got amidst the madness at the ram-packed bar.

The young mum was trampled when everyone rushed for the door, resulting in a frenzied stampede.

Come Monday’s journey to Albert Square (October 14), Lauren was seen gripping her side, clearly struggling with excruciating pain, and later whispered to Peter that she’d been battling the hurt from that night for weeks on end.

Peter nudged Lauren to put her feet up, but she was back at the grind in the car lot before he caught her cringing in agony beside one of the cars.

Further along, Lauren admitted to her cuz Penny (Kitty Castledine) that she’s chewing through painkillers just to make it through the daylight hours, reports the Manchester Evening News.

And as the drama didn’t let up, Lauren confided her woes to Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) too but is yet to seek any medical advice for her long-lasting injury.

The whispers of Lauren’s antics have set off alarms among EastEnders followers who reckon she might be knocking on death’s door. Social media is awash with predictions after one viewer speculated on X: “I wonder if Lauren has an ectopic pregnancy #Eastenders.”

Another fan speculated on social media: “I’m wondering if an incident is going to happen with Lauren. That crush at Peggy’s has been weeks and weeks ago and she’s a couple of times creased in pain. I’m wondering if a storyline will kick in with Lauren having complications from the accident. #EastEnders.”

One more viewer implored, tweeting: “Lauren abeg go to the hospital and get checked out before you drop down dead #EastEnders”, and someone else suggested: “Lauren is going to end up critical?? #EastEnders.”

Another added their theory: “There’s something worse with Lauren than anyone suspects, isn’t there? Is it pancreatitis? #eastenders.”

EastEnders airs Monday – Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer
