Sharon and Jay’s fears deepen for Phil as he spirals further in EastEnders
Concerns for EastEnders’ Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) grow next month as he grows increasingly isolated.
It was recently revealed the Walford stalwart would be part of a new loneliness storyline, with the character experiencing suicidal thoughts in the lead-up to Christmas.
In scenes to air next week, Phil’s ex-wife Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and extended family member Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) are worried about him after Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) tries to meddle in his life.
Nicola seething to learn Sharon is making a go of things with her ex-husband Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian), who she is desperate to get back with.
In an attempt to wreck their blossoming relationship, she tries to wind Phil up about it.
While Phil refuses to be her co-conspirator, Nicola is undeterred and later heads to No. 55 to try again, but is surprised by what she finds.
Phil orders her out and she promises to keep his secret, but immediately reports back to Sharon to try and drive a wedge between her and Teddy.
Sharon heads to see Phil and while he denies Nicola’s claims, Sharon can see something is wrong.
Later in the week, Sharon and Phil head to Teddy’s where the family are celebrating the relaunch of Peggy’s, following Nicola’s takeover of the club earlier this month, and there is a confrontation when it is revealed what Nicola has been up to.
Jay clocks that Phil feels isolated from the other Mitchells and pays him a visit, but Phil does not welcome his concern.
Jay tries again later in the week, but Phil just can’t bring himself to open up.
