Emmerdale return as Piper ‘set for Belle Dingle reunion’ after Tom King’s arrest
Emmerdale fans are convinced that it's only a matter of time before dog Piper is reunited with her owner and Tom King's abuse victim Belle Dingle
Fans of Emmerdale are predicting the imminent return of beloved dog Piper.
The pet vanished from the Dales a few months ago after Tom King (James Chase) hatched a cruel scheme to convince his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), that her dog had died.
As viewers will remember, Tom had been mistreating Belle for some time. In disturbing scenes, he struck Piper with his car and then pretended to have found the dog injured at the roadside. He claimed to have done everything possible to save Piper, before breaking the news to Belle that the dog had passed away.
However, this was not ‘true’, and Piper is actually still alive. After a memorial service for the dog, Tom was seen visiting a house outside the village where he handed over a very much alive Piper to a couple.
He deceived them by saying that her owner was not a good person and that Piper would be better off with them. As the weeks and months have passed, Belle remains oblivious to the fact that her dog is still alive, reports Leeds Live.
Piper is Belle’s dog
Moreover, in the Dales this week, Tom finally received his comeuppance. DS Foy (Robert Cavanah) arrived in the village and asked Tom to accompany him to the station, before revealing photographic evidence recovered from his tablet.
The images showed Belle in the bathroom and asleep. A shocked Tom tried to weave more lies, insisting he could explain everything. But DS Foy wasn’t buying it, so he took him away to be charged, much to the delight of soap fans.
As the storyline hints at Tom’s impending misfortune, Emmerdale enthusiasts are buzzing with the possibility that this could signal the much-anticipated return of the cherished canine Piper.
Fans reckon Piper will return soon
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, one viewer stated: “We just need Piper back now!” Eager fans took to the comments with their predictions and hopes. One member speculated: “Bet she’s back for Christmas.”
While another concurred, adding: “Maybe the couple who have Piper will hear about Tom being arrested and contact the police.”
Another follower contemplated a brighter festive season, suggesting: “Maybe, just maybe… It will be a happy Christmas in Emmerdale for once and instead of deaths and the usual gloom.. Belle gets Piper back and the Dingles finally have a happy ending.”
