Emmerdale viewers were left startled during the latest episode as ‘creepy’ Tom King took his abuse to a whole new level.
During Tuesday’s visit to the Dales (November 26), Tom’s estranged wife, Belle, tried her best to stay calm after she was informed that Tom—who is currently under investigation—was acting like nothing had happened.
Belle was also distraught when she discovered that some of her friends in the village were still on his side despite the abuse she’d endured while married to him.
With her family begging her to remain cool, Belle was worried that the investigation wouldn’t go as smoothly as she initially thought and feared the villain might get away with his heinous crimes.
But later on in the show, after being informed that Belle had returned to the village after spending some time in a mental health unit, Tom’s obsessive nature heightened. Breaking into Jacob’s Fold, where Belle was staying, Tom roamed around the house while Belle was upstairs having a bath.
Looking through her suitcase, which was on the living room floor, Tom picked out Belle’s blue jumper. Holding it close to his face, Tom quickly inhaled the scent of the jumper.
Once he realised that Belle could be coming downstairs, he quickly hid away with the blue jumper. Completely unaware that Tom was in the house, Belle headed over to the suitcase to grab a towel.
Later on, bumping into Belle on Main Street, Tom was quick to verbally abuse her. He also said her plans to bring him down were futile.
Tom later gave Belle’s blue jumper to Amelia as a gift. However, fans were disturbed by Tom’s obsessive actions and took to social media site X to complain.
One viewer said: “OMG, Tom stealing Belle’s top and encouraging Amelia to wear it reminded me of Nish abusing Suki in #EastEnders at the beginning. This is going beyond abuse now for Belle it’s turning into a creepy and sinister obsession. At least Tom gets charged this week.”
Another said: “Just finished watching tonight’s episode #Emmerdale. Tom you are a creep!! Can’t wait for him too get charged. ” They added: “Nice too see belle back can’t wait for her too get justice soon.”
Another shared: “Tom you absolute creep.” While a fourth added: “Nicking Belle’s top and giving it to Amelia so she can smell like Belle.”
Emmerdale fans have figured out a ‘plot hole’ in the latest development with Tom King and Belle Dingle.
The storyline between the pair has been going on for months, cataloguing the abuse Belle has been subjected to by Tom. In tonight’s episode, fans watched as Tom followed Belle down a street and confronted her.
Later on in the episode, Tom lets himself in to Belle’s unlocked home and takes one of her jumpers. He then gives it to his new partner Amelia.
But a number of viewers were displeased by this latest development. They took to X to vent their frustrations.
