April Windsor kidnapped and forced to relive her mum’s death in harrowing Emmerdale scenes – and it’s Ross Barton’ fault
Over a decade has passed since Donna Windsor was killed off in the soap
APRIL Windsor is set for a horrifying ordeal in upcoming Emmerdale scenes – and it’s Ross Barton’s fault.
The character – played by Amelia Flanagan – is to be kidnapped and forced to relive mum Donna’s (Verity Rushworth) tragic death in 2014.
In scenes yet to air, April is frustrated after dad Marlon (Mark Charnock) rejects her request to go into town after school.
She reluctantly accepts a lift from the seemingly friendly Jade (Twinnie Lee Moore) – unaware of her true nature.
Ross made his return to the village in recent weeks – revealed to be participating in illegal, unsanctioned fights overseen by Jade.
A chilling video call from soon reveals Jade has kidnapped April.
Ross persuades Billy (Jay Kontzle) to lend him his car, insisting he has rescue April alone, despite lacking the necessary money.
However, he is left overwhelmed with dread after realising he is going to a place intimately connected to his past.
A decade earlier, his former partner Donna committed suicide by jumping from a multi-storey car park.
Ross is terrified to see one of Jade’s goons holding a tearful April near the edge of the car park.
Jade continues to demand that Ross hand over the money he doesn’t have.
Unbeknown to her, it had been swiped by Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
How will these dramatic scenes ultimately play out?
In August 2014, policewoman Donna threw herself and crime lord Gary North (Fergus O’Donnell) off a multi-storey car park, to their deaths.
During the latter stages of Donna’s stint, she and Ross had an on and off sexual relationship.
Donna apologised to Ross moments before her death, having previously lied that she didn’t love him.
More recently, April received cruel online abuse from people taunting her about her mum’s death.
The young woman was horrified after learning about a troll account called ‘Dead Donna’.
Considering the emotional impact, how will these upcoming scenes affect Ross and April?
Emmerdale continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
