Emmerdale’s Amelia flees in tears as Nicola reels over what Tom King has done to her
Emmerdale’s Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) was chilled to the bone when she returned home to find Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) in tears after a tense showdown with Tom King (James Chase).
Tom, as viewers know, is under investigation for abusing and controlling wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) throughout the duration of their marriage.
Nicola knows full well that he’s guilty of such a crime after she learned that he’d terrorised her own son Carl Holliday (Charlie Joyce), which prompted her to move out of Victoria Cottage.
Jimmy (Nick Miles), however, has stood by Tom, which has made things difficult between he and Nicola, who remains adamant that Tom is a controlling abuser – and he needs to go.
Nicola, however, somewhat relented earlier this week when she discovered that Jimmy had been attacked by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), which prompted her to move back home.
Tom was quick to make light of the whole thing but Nicola reiterated her stance on the situation, telling him exactly what she thinks of him.
Tom was hopeful he could win her over but Friday’s (November 22) offering of the ITV soap proved otherwise as he was again left disgruntled over his inability to manipulate her.
And it’s not just Nicola either, as Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) made no effort to get along with him at work after he blackmailed his way back into the vets.
Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) similarly made her feelings on working with him clear, with Tom seething as he came to the realisation that he’s losing control of the situation.
Fed up, he returned to Victoria Cottage, where he found himself alone while Nicola and Jimmy enjoyed some family time with the kids watching Elliot play football.
Amelia subsequently arrived at the property with a bottle of wine, determined to cheer Tom up. Tom, however, made no effort with her and proved rude as he told her to leave.
But Amelia simply wanted to make him feel better and as she leaned in for a kiss Tom pushed her away and proceeded to say some truly awful things to her.
Amelia was floored and rushed towards the door.
Nicola arrived at this very moment and, seeing Amelia in floods of tears, she feared the worst, demanding to know what Tom had done to her.
Tom feigned innocence once more, which prompted Nicola to inform him that she’s got no choice but to tell Jimmy what she saw.
Will Jimmy finally see Tom for who he truly is? And has Tom burned his bridges with one of the only characters who believed him? Is his time finally up?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
