TYLER PERRY’S SISTAS SEASON 8 EPISODE 5 RECAP

Tyler Perry's Sistas Season 8 Episode 5

Andi and Danni are spiraling and Karen’s in hot water at the salon. Here’s our recap of Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 8 Episode 5.

It’s that time again—another episode of Tyler Perry’s Sistas. Although the show is loved by many, looking at social media, fans are conflicted about this season so far. Some fans are complaining about the writing and direction of the show. Some are noting the lack of character development in Danni and Andi. For me, this season already feels like an improvement over last season when it comes to the storytelling. I agree there are characters who need to evolve and grow. Aside from Danni and Andi, Zac and Fatima seem to be in autopilot. But the Gary stabbing story has provided some focus and heightened drama to the story.

Now, without further adieu, let’s jump into the highlights for Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 8 Episode 5.

Andi spirals

After his initial recovery, Gary isn’t doing so well, but when Andi wants an update, Hudson flexes his power of attorney privileges and asks her to leave. Gary is in critical condition after suffering a seizure, but he’s stable. Andi beats herself up for seeking validation from others, including Gary, who she says is the worst decision she’s ever made. She looks to be having a downward spiral and vows to never be manipulated or controlled by a man again.

She has a flashback of something Jordan said the night of the murder and wonders if it was him who stabbed Gary. After exchanging text messages, Jordan shows up at Andi’s apartment, but he isn’t alone. Penelope is with him and she’s fuming. She asks Andi if she thinks she and Gary can ruin people’s lives and get away with it. Andi doesn’t know what’s going on. To make things clear, Penelope gives her a slap across her face. Actually, it’s more of a slap-punch.

Karen’s business woes continue

At the salon, Karen is trying to deal with a disgruntled Roots To Riches customer who is making a scene. Soon there’s a crowd of women protesting and demanding their money back. Pam tries to get comfort in the arms of Trey, who walks into the salon. We haven’t seen him in a while and it seems some of the fanbase think he’s up to something. Karen looks like she’s about to crumble under the pressure. Trey encourages them to settle with the ringleader…until he learns about the $400,000 price tag.

Karen is worried that they will lose everything they’ve worked for, but Pam is confident they’ll find a way out. Things get even worse when Miss Marie walks in and sees all the commotion and demands to know what’s going on. It looks like her investment in the company might be in jeopardy.

Miss Marie pays Hayden a visit

When Hayden arrives at his office, he finds Miss Marie Willis who wants to discuss some business. He doesn’t like that she recommended Andi to become a partner at the firm. He reminds her of their sexy time together, and that’s exactly what she wants. Hayden really has met his match with Miss Marie.

She wants Hayden to help with the business plan for Roots To Riches, but Hayden doesn’t understand why she’s investing in a company that makes a product to help nappy women with their edges. Rude. Before she leaves, she wants Hayden to thank her for the fact that he still has a job. She alludes to being the one that told Robin to keep Hayden at the firm.

As soon as Miss Marie leaves, Fatima comes in to find out what they were “kee-keeing” about. She calls Zac to let him know something foul is happening, but the conversation soon turns sexual, but what would you expect from Zatima?

When she comes home for lunch, she complains about having to put up with Hayden. Zac suspects that Robin could be behind Gary’s stabbing Meanwhile, Fatima suspects it could be Miss Marie after she lost money with Gary. She has to head back to work, but she says he could eat her “taco” when she gets home. Damn. This show is getting even more racy, but I’m not exactly mad at it.

Dust up at the bank

Rich comes into the bank to kiss up on Sabrina and see if he can get a $100,000 loan. Something’s up, but when she starts asking questions, he distracts her with more kisses. Meanwhile, Paige and Maurice have another run-in when she snatches her vintage, which she claims is her most prized possession, out of his hand. She hands him another pen that she says is basic like him. Shots fired. As they fight over the pen and cause an outburst, Sabrina has to cut her time with Rich short in order to mediate. She sends Paige to the break room to cool off, and then threatens to fire Maurice and have him go back to his OnlyFans (or whatever it’s called). With the commotion in the bank, she can’t leave with Rich, but asks for a naked raincheck. Before she can even get back to work, Danni calls and wants to meet for lunch, but Sabrina can’t after turning down Rich. Danni’s trying to contact her therapist, but she’s not answering her phone to maintain her boundaries. When Sabrina realizes that Danni is drunk, she decides to meet up with her after all.

Sabrina finds Danni drinking at the restaurant. Danni is calling herself a dummy for how things are going with Tony. She fills Sabrina in on the disagreement with Tony and the leadership program. Sabrina doesn’t understand what she’s upset about since Tony is looking out for her future. But Danni is really upset that he’s trying to change her into something she’s not. Sabrina comes to his defense and explains that he just sees something in her, but Danni loves herself just the way she is. Danni is done with Tony and that hillbilly Preston. Even though he’s no longer on the show, it’s nice to hear his name. Hopefully, this means he’s returning at some point.

But their conversation is interrupted when Tony and Rich, who Sabrina said she couldn’t meet for lunch because she had to work, walk in.
