Emmerdale cancelled tonight as soaps schedule thrown into chaos again
EMMERDALE has been pulled off the air tonight in a huge schedule shake-up.
The ITV soap usually broadcasts a one-hour episode on Thursday evenings but tonight it will not air at all.
Instead, the channel will be broadcasting live sporting coverage – meaning that Emmerdale has been tossed to the side, a move likely to leave fans fuming.
Coverage of the UEFA Nations League Live match between England and Greece from the Olympic Stadium in Athens will be shown on the channel from 7pm.
It has forced Emmerdale to be axed in its entirety as well as meaning that the nightly ITV News bulletin has been chopped down to just 30 minutes.
The coverage will be led by ITV’s lead sports presenter Mark Pougatch with analysis from Roy Keane and Ian Wright as well as commentary from Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon.
Earlier this year, Emmerdale and its soap counterparts were regularly disrupted in the schedules as a result of live sporting events.
Both the Olympics and Euro 2024 coverage saw TV schedules ripped up over the summer.
This week on Emmerdale, fans have seen Tina Dingle reveal all to her family about being Vinny’s secret mother.
Having made a shock re-appearance at her father Zak’s funeral, Tina has been hanging around the Dingle clan in a bid to get her hands on her share of Wishing Well Cottage.
It has seen her in a shock blackmail scenario with Mandy Dingle who had been desperate to keep Vinny’s real maternity a secret.
Knowing that Tina was the real mother of her son, she agreed to help Tina get her hands on the will in order for her silence.
However, it did not take long until loudmouth Tina spilled all to Vinny about just who she really was.
Elsewhere, fans have seen Eric Pollard struggle with his Parkinson’s which saw him struggle to get out of bed.
