Emmerdale’s Tom King unknowingly seals his own fate as major twist is ‘confirmed’
Emmerdale’s Tom King (James Chase) was left grinning with glee after managing to convince Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) to forgive him for the way he treated her.
The abuser, as fans know, is being investigated by the police over the way he treated Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) during their marriage and the whole village have turned against him as a result.
The whole village except Jimmy (Nick Miles) – who believes his nephew has been set up – and Amelia, who is in a relationship with Tom.
Belle, Chas (Lucy Pargeter), Kerry and Amy Wyatt (Laura Norton and Natalie Ann-Jamieson) have all warned Amelia that Tom is not to be trusted but she refuses to hear it and has instead leapt to his defence repeatedly.
Things, however, took a turn earlier this week on Bonfire Night, with Tom left seething when the Dingles threw an effigy of him on the blaze as he came to realise that pretty much everyone can see through his act.
Amelia attempted to calm him down but Tom retaliated with some truly awful words, branding her ‘pathetic’.
Devastated, Amelia stormed off.
Wednesday’s (November 6) edition of the ITV soap picked up the following day, with Tom telling Jimmy about how Amelia won’t answer any of his replies.
Jimmy, feeling sorry for his nephew, decided to speak to Amelia, who reiterated just how horrible the things Tom said to her where. Jimmy encouraged her to give Tom another chance and, after giving it some thought, she agreed to do just that.
Tom apologised, feigning regret. ‘People are going to see that I’m not what Belle is saying I am’, he claimed, delighted to have won Amelia over again.
However, Amelia’s expression said something else altogether. Is she starting to realise that Tom is, in fact, all those things that people – namely Belle – are saying? Will she come to realise that he is an abuser?
And if so, will she prove instrumental in the fight to bring him down?
This has long been a fan theory and, given the latest turn in the story, it may just come to pass!
