EastEnders ‘confirms’ the end for another villain – as he’s finally caught out
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7:30pm but is available to view now on BBC iPlayer.
Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) has finally been caught in EastEnders – but will fiancée Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) get justice?
This comes just days after Nish Panesar’s (Navin Chowdhry) downfall when he confessed to the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
The soap is on a real villain exodus right now!
Yesterday, Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) told Reiss that his mate had CCTV footage that would help prove that Sonia was innocent.
As viewers know, she’s currently locked up for the murder of his comatose wife Debbie – though played no part in her death. It was actually Reiss, who smothered her with a pillow in a bid to avoid having to cough up more cash for her private care.
Unfortunately Son’ was caught in the crossfire as she had also visited Debs on the night she died, and was the only one who had signed the visitor’s book.
Since then, her sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) has been on a mission to prove that she’s not guilty, and has been adamant that Reiss is the one responsible.
Very wise!
After heading to the warehouse that had obtained the incriminating footage, Reiss was left alone to view the moment he was caught on camera in the vicinity of the care home – despite telling the police he was nowhere near there at the time.

He rushed home and destroyed the flash drive, with a furious Bianca charging over to confront him. Terrified, he bolted the door and hid overnight.
In today’s episode, we saw that she’d spent the night at the wheel of her taco van, keeping a watchful eye over the front door to make sure he didn’t make a quick escape.
After sneaking out of the back door, Reiss made his way to the Bridge Street Café to discuss the ‘Save Our Sonia’ campaign with Martin Fowler (James Bye).
Bianca charged in and demanded to know why he’d got rid of the evidence, with him making a quick excuse that he was worried Sonia would be further incriminated.
Later, Teddy caught up with her and said there was a back-up copy of the CCTV… and handed it over.
She rushed home to view it, whilst a blissfully unaware Reiss went to the pub to apologise to Teddy for his erratic behaviour. He tried to blame it on the grief he felt for not only losing Debbie, but also Sonia.
The Mitchell hard man informed him that he’d passed on the video to Bianca, and that he should probably rush to find her.
As he crept through the hallway, Bianca was revelling in her discovery. Reiss opened the kitchen door as she exclaimed: ‘Gotcha!’
Is it over for Reiss, or is further turmoil set to arrive in Albert Square?
It’s Bonfire Night, so there’s sure to be some fireworks…
