Exclusive: Emmerdale teasers: ‘Shock Christmas return’, Tina Dingle fallout and Tom King comeuppance

Emmerdale viewers have got plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks, right up until Christmas and beyond.

Cast members from the ITV soap recently teased to The Mirror there were some big moments ahead. From old storylines reaching a conclusion to new ones kicking off, several characters will take centre stage.

The Mirror spoke with soap stars Eden Taylor-Draper, James Chase, Lisa Riley, Dominic Brunt, Daisy Campbell and Katie Hill last month. During our chats there were some major hints about what was on the way, with some stuff unfolding currently on the show.

There were new details about the mystery Christmas arrival set to cause a stir, while two cast members also teased the huge repercussions of Tina Dingle’s return. One star addressed what was on the way ahead of a sad exit, while Belle Dingle and Tom King’s abuse storyline is also set to take a new turn. Here’s all the gossip…

‘Different’ Belle and Tom episodes

Belle actress Eden and Tom star James told the Mirror that there will be new upcoming scenes involving the pair that had “never been done before” on the soap, describing it as “dark and different”. Eden explained: “We’re about to go back and start shooting a really cool block where a lot happens.

“It’s going to be exciting – it’s quite different. We’ve not done this before and I’d say just keep watching.” For the scenes to be filmed late September, early October, we imagine they will air around November or December time, with the scenes teased to be “outrageous”.

James went on: “I think it is different and what is going to be airing very soon – it evolves and the storyline that we’ve been doing and the tone of it… it’s still dark but it changes in a way where I think Belle regains more of that power and it sort of becomes more of a tug of war instead of just Tom’s constant iron fists being brought down.”

Eden hinted at the kind of justice Tom could face as she revealed how she would like to see the story end. “I think in a situation like this it’s important to show the viewers how justice can be served and that’s the message I’d love to get across. I think that our entire team feels the same that these situations can be helped.”

Amelia’s exit sealed?

Amelia actress Daisy has announced she is leaving the soap, telling The Mirror she would be bowing out just before Christmas. Speaking last month, Daisy told us whether Amelia could face similar abuse to Belle – amid fans speculating her exit is tied into the storyline.

She said: “I wouldn’t say she’s in danger, but keep watching because you never know. It’s a soap, there’s always twists and turns. For now she is under his wing unfortunately.

“I love working with James [Chase] but his character Tom has got her where he wants her. For now it’s at the manipulation stage… we’ll see where it goes, but keep watching because there’s a lot more to come. There’s so much.”

On the future of the plot, Daisy told us: “I don’t think I can give anything away but it’s good stuff. It goes on for quite a while. But we’ll see what he tries to do with Amelia. It’s exciting stuff for the character arc, I want her to team up with Belle.”

Tina Dingle return fallout

Lisa Riley spilled all about Tina’s big return to us recently, hinting it would have massive repercussions for those directly involved. Viewers now know that Tina is the biological son of Mandy’s adoptive son Vinny Dingle, and he has no idea.

Tina is blackmailing Mandy over this, and it’s set to impact Mandy, Vinny and Mandy’s husband Paddy Kirk. Lisa told us: “Someone is arriving and they are gonna cause a stir for Mandy, Paddy and Vinny.

“It is gonna have a lot of repercussions moving forward. It’s got layers and layers of questions and the answers will be told onscreen. The repercussions will have an affect, certainly on Mandy, Paddy and Vinny the most.”

Shock Christmas arrival

With teasers of a “surprise arrival at Christmas”, stars Katie and Daisy teased what they knew about the big twist. Teasing it could be a shock return or a new arrival, the stars admitted they were stunned when they found out who it involved.

Speaking to The Mirror and asked if they were shocked by the twist, Daisy confessed she was. She admitted: “We only found out very recently and I was like erm, what?”

She went on: “When we found out I was like, ‘Oh my, really? That’s happening?” Katie also teased the twist and hinted it could be linked to the Dingles. As we asked whether it was linked to the family, amid the rumours of a Dingle comeback, Katie remained coy but promised epic scenes.

She warned she could be in big trouble if she said too much, heavily hinting it was linked to the family or even the Sugdens. She told us: “It’s exciting, exciting stuff and that’s all I am gonna say because I don’t wanna get in trouble! But keep watching.”
