Emmerdale death confirmed as major character brutally killed off-screen
Emmerdale viewers were left stunned after an off-screen death was confirmed on the ITV soap as one former character was killed off six years after leaving the village
Emmerdale chiefs have written out a former regular character off-screen, six years after her last appearance in the village.
The ITV soap’s fans were left reeling earlier this week when Ross Barton (played by Michael Parr) was revealed as Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) rival in an unlicensed boxing match.
In scenes available to watch on ITVX now, and set to air on ITV1 tonight (Wednesday, October 30), Ross visits Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) home to give something to their son Moses Dingle (Arthur Cockroft), and he ends up reflecting on his time away from the village. He exited Emmerdale in 2018 and relocated to Liverpool with girlfriend Rebecca White (Emily Head) and her son Seb White, who is the biological child of Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).
As Ross asked Charity for a “selfie” for Moses to see his parents getting along, Charity snatched his phone from his hand and rang Rebecca to find out exactly what was happening. After failing to get an answer on the phone, Ross confirmed that they’d “split up a while” before revealing that she’s dead.
He explained: “I was still getting to see Seb but one day she called me to say she had to go into hospital for a routine operation, nothing serious, and could I look after Seb.”
Ross continued: “We went go-karting and he loved it, we both did, and then I helped him make a card for his mum but he never got to give it to her. We were both having a pizza when we got the call. It turns out I was still listed as her next of kin. They said it was a one in a thousand chance.”, reports Leeds Live.
“Her heart just stopped and that was it. I let Seb go to sleep that night knowing he didn’t have a mum anymore.”
Robert went on to tell Charity that Seb is now living with one of Rebecca’s relatives in Bristol.
Fans will recall that Rebecca was left with a brain injury which was sustained after a car crash, caused by Lachlan White.
