‘Could be swayed!’ Jamie Borthwick reckons EastEnders legend will do Strictly next
EastEnders’ Jamie Borthwick believes a certain co-star should sign up for Strictly Come Dancing.
The Jay Brown actor, 30, is becoming a fan favourite on the BBC One programme and found himself joint top of the leaderboard on Saturday night with his fiery paso doble.
During Wednesday’s It Takes Two, presenter Janette Manrara told Jamie: ‘You had some EastEnders cast members in the audience, Tanya Franks (Rainie Cross) and Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale).
‘They were there on Saturday. What did Adam think of the dance and do you think he’ll ever do Strictly?’
Although Adam is no stranger to reality TV, after appearing on I’m A Celebrity in 2021, Jamie believes the Albert Square veteran could be persuaded.
‘You know what? I think he could be swayed to do Strictly,’ Jamie replied.
‘He really enjoyed it on Saturday and he’s been loads of times before to support other people. I think yeah, if you gave him a little push he would be Strictly.’
At the end of the evening, former Arsenal and England footballer Paul, 56, made it to week five of the competition before being unanimously voted out of the dance-off.
His samba routine with dance partner Karen Hauer wasn’t enough to convince Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke, who saved former JLS singer JB Gill instead.
But after the result, one of Paul’s former colleagues, Jeff, has slammed those who decided on the Strictly line-up for including too many people with a dance background.
