EastEnders fans ‘work out’ who really killed Harry’s girlfriend – but it wasn’t Teddy
EastEnders fans believe Harry Mitchell's ex was killed by someone leading to Harry, Teddy and Barney's move to Walford - but it seems they could all be in the clear
Some EastEnders fans have decided Teddy Mitchell isn’t the person who caused the disappearance of son Harry’s girlfriend, and that someone else is to blame.
Jack Branning told daughter Penny this week about Harry’s potentially dark past. It was claimed he had been accused of killing his ex after a row, after she vanished.
But has Shireen really been killed and if yes, was another Mitchell to blame? Fans certainly think so after believing Harry was not the killer, but a relative could be.
After months of hints the Mitchells are hiding something dark, hence their move to Walford, we might finally know what they were running from. Teddy repeatedly made comments about him and his sons needing a fresh start and escaping something that happened before.
After initially suggesting someone was searching for them and that they needed to move on with their lives, Teddy then implied Harry was the reason for them fleeing where they lived before. It now seems it’s linked to Shireen’s vanishing act and her possible murder.

Viewers initially believed Teddy could have killed Shireen and that he’s actually the soap’s next big villain. A comment made by Harry about Teddy being the only one to believe him didn’t exactly cool this theory.
But now fans think Teddy and Harry are innocent, and that a new character will be revealed as the killer. Harry’s mother Nicola will soon head to Albert Square, and now fans think she might have harmed Shireen.
One viewer posted on social media: “Harry’s mother killed his girlfriend and that is why they ran, that’s why they have been on edge.” Another said: “Harry’s mother did it I say,” as a third agreed: “I’m thinking it might be to do with Nicola.”
Other fans are more convinced Harry could be covering for his younger brother Barney, and perhaps this crime will bring Nicola to the Square. One fan said: “Could this be what brings Nicola (Teddy’s ex wife) to Walford? Could Harry be covering for Barney maybe?” as another said: “Defo barney who hurt Harry’s mrs.”
Nicola will be played by actress Laura Doddington, who has previously starred in Doctors, Holby City, Casualty, The Bill and The Midwich Cuckoos. Laura has also appeared on a number of Doctor Who spin-offs and podcasts. Now, she’s heading to Walford 15 years after her last appearance on the show in 2009, after a guest role on the show.
