Emmerdale Teases Return Track For Troubled Teen -Samson Dingle
It has been a while since we last saw young Samson Dingle on Emmerdale. For the unversed, the youngster for awarded a four-year prison sentence in August 2024 for his involvement in a violent robbery, which then led to a stabbing incident. The character was played by actor Sam Hall, who essayed the role for about a decade. However, he made his Dales exit after he was (reportedly) axed from the soap.
Initially, when his exit news started making rounds, it sparked the speculation that Samson’s exit story would see him die. But that wasn’t the case, Samson was sent to prison instead. Thus, leaving the door wide open for a possible return in the future. Now, months later, the perfect opportunity has come up to weave him back into the Emmerdale fabric.
As we know, Zak Dingle recently passed away on the soap, and his funeral episodes are right around the corner. Thus, in the installment leading up to it saw the family preparing for the send-off. Samson was repeatedly mentioned in many of those conversations. His father Sam, expressed his dismay over not having been able to share the news of Zak’s passing to him in person, and that he had to pass on the news through prison officials.
Later, in Friday’s episode, Sam showed his regret over not being able to get his son a day’s release to be able to attend the funeral. He admitted to Cain and Belle that he feels as though he has failed a father. Even though Cain and Belle did their best to reassure him, he argued that prison changes people, and he fears for the kind of life Sam will have upon his release.
With so much talk about Samson, and his life after release, we can’t help but wonder if the soap is laying the groundwork to bring the character back. We know that a surprise character returns on Christmas. Could it be Samson?
